New Range Riding School is the riding school with a difference, all the horses and ponies are rescued from uncertain futures, they are rehabilitated, reschooled and have a home for life! All the horses and ponies needs are catered for and the highest degree of equine care is exersized throughout – they are never slaved in the school hour after hour! We also teach you to ride using the kindest tack and methods so that you learn to ride properly and the horses are never harmed.
And thats not the only difference! We not only offer horse riding lessons, we teach horse care and management as well; looking after the horses you ride is a key part to the education you will recieve. All riding lessons are structured to cater for the riders needs, capabilities and ages. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or an experienced rider you will find the perfect lesson plan for you.
We offer the following services:
Private and shared private riding lessons, adoption schemes, own a pony for a day for children, vouchers, birthday parties and pony camps during school holidays. So who is Paula? Paula started riding at just 3 years old and knew then that it was what she wanted to do for the rest of her life! Inspired by her first horse ‘Ranger’ she started New Range Riding School in 1983 (that’s 42 years experience!!) and it has been going ever since. Despite a major car accident over 30 years ago cutting her riding life short, Paula fought her way back out of a wheel chair and continued to teach others the joy of horse riding and horse care.
Unfortunately, Paula now has to take a backseat, admin role in the business these days after suffering a major heart attack on Boxing Day 2023. Her daughter, Carrie-ann, now runs the physical side of the business. She has over 5 years teaching experience and is a qualified Level 2 Horse Riding Coach via ABRS (Association of British Riding Schools) and First4Sport.
With 40+ years in the business, having trained numerous other instructors and taught hundreds of people to ride you probably won’t find a more experienced horse riding stables in the greater Peterborough area.
This has been, and continues to be, Paula’s life work and now Carrie-ann is taking on that mission. Why not come along, learn to ride, learn how to care for the horses and support the rescue work that Paula has dedicated her life to.
Remember all of the money we raise through our Horse Riding lessons goes to supporting our horses and giving them a home for life. So, by learning to ride with us you are also giving back to the horses.
